Cher has been announced as the headliner for this year’s annual New York Pride Dance on the Pier, set to take place June 30.
The musical icon is slated to perform a number of her decade-spanning hits as well as he latest single “Woman’s World” from her forthcoming album (and first studio album in 11 years) Closer to the Truth, which is due out in September. The show will kick off at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26.
“NYC Pride is thrilled to welcome Cher to the stage of this year’s Dance on the Pier! Her performance will be one of the most memorable in the history of this world-class party,” revealed Managing Director of NYC Pride, Chris Frederick, in a statement. “Now in its 27th year, the Dance on the Pier continues a proud tradition of partnering with all-star talent to create a high-quality event that raises funds to support local LGBT non-profits and New York City’s annual Pride festivities.”
Cher will perform “Woman’s World” on The Voice June 18 and her album is said to feature collaborations with Lady Gaga and P!nk.
